The basement door

It's broken, or at least not functioning properly at the moment and there seem to be at least as many moments of malfunction as not. Is this a problem for anyone else? I for one have things in the basement I need to get to on a fairly regular basis and I'm sure other people do, too.

    I noticed this as I went down to bleed the boiler this morning. Not that I'm making excuses, of course...

    Hard to bleed the boiler if the boiler's out of reach.
